How to take photos of your home for an Exterior Design Rendering
1. Get the Whole Picture.
Smart phone images are usually fine for this process now, which makes this process so easy! Go across the street and take a photo from eye level that includes the whole house straight from the front. Even if there is greenery blocking the house, this overall shot is really helpful. If greenery is an issue, after the overall shot, move in front of the greenery & shoot the details of the house that were covered (as straight on as you can). Taking photos at noon helps to eliminate shadows & allows for the best renderings.
2. Get the Details.
Next, take a closer photo of the entryway to the house, and any other details you think may be important to the design. Trim, windows, or problem areas you want us to notice and focus on are all helpful, but at minimum, we need one overall photos of the home, and a clear entry area photo as well. When sending photos from your phone, please choose the “ACTUAL SIZE” option on your iPhone when asked to ensure that the image large enough (in Megabytes versus Kilobytes).
3. Send it to us
The last question on the questionnaire requests you to upload photos. Here’s where you send them to us, along with as much information about your vision for your home as you can. The more info we know about you & your taste, the more successful we can be in creating something that suits you and your family. If you forget something, don’t worry, just email it to us as soon as you remember. After submitting images and the questionnaire, sit back and relax while we get to work making all the tough decisions for you to make your home a showstopper.
